The internet is a wonderful and "game changing" technology. However, improper or superficial use of the information can result in careless and quick judgements about any number of things. For instance, when my name is entered into a search engine, ie "googled", several references to scientology appear. Several people, including fellow physicians, have made the incorrect, and in some cases damaging, assumption that I must therefore BE a Scientologist. I have never been, am not now, nor will I ever be a scientologist.

| I have a family member who is heavily involved with Scientology; CCHR International, a psychiatry watch dog group and connected with the Church of Scientology. Although I have never attended a single meeting, I have been listed as a "Commissioner" on the board of advisors for CCHR due to my family connection and my employers involvement. Many commissioners are not Scientologists in any case. | |
